Shaffona Morgan is a popular singer born and raised in Trenton, New Jersey. She spent most of her developing years traveling the world with her family singing gospel music. She is one of the most successful recording artists to have emerged from Trenton, receiving a certificate of recognition from Mayor Reed Gusciora on April 27, 2019. She found church to be a nurturing environment in which her musical skills could be honed. Shaffona expresses extreme gratitude for her grandmother’s gospel group “The Heavenly Dee Etts” for being an early inspiration.
Shaffona’s talents and musical journey have awarded her the opportunity to open for legendary Gospel recording artist Smokie Norful and catch the attention of Hezekiah Walker when she won first place in a singing competition. Her most proud accomplishment was being a finalist on the Voice, and making it to American Idol. Shaffona proudly resides in Trenton, where she mentors youth and teens at the local Recreation Centers.
